Our new garden addition

Our town sponsored the sale of discounted 65 gallon rain barrels from the Great American Rain Barrel company. We set the barrel below one of the downspouts (the one that creates our Julia Pfeiffer Burns like-waterfall, another story and link provided below) in the afternoon. It rained that night and by morning the barrel was overflowing. Made me think that I should have gotten two to daisy-chain. Also made me wonder how far 65 gallons was going to go in the garden. Hmmm.

The garden at the moment looks a little like Alcatraz with fencing in various places to keep the woodchucks and bunnies at bay. We'll be installing a new fencing system soon. Hopefully there will still be veggies worth fencing. In the meantime, we'll just have to consider the high rate of consumption one of nature's wonders.

This link will take you to a picture of the waterfall at Pfeiffer State Park (Big Sur, CA).

So how's it going? Just enough water, or overflowing?
