We left Boston today - eight students and three instructors - a good ratio. Todd and I had found a flight that departed from Boston at 11:15 am, which precluded the predawn departure of previous trips. Although we pulled out of the parking lot at 7:15 am, there were several tired campers aboard. We had been in the field the day before and got stuck in traffic on the way home which delayed our arrival on campus until 8:15 pm. While that may not sound too late, there was still a lot of packing and socializing to be done that night. Everyone was a little groggy in the morning.
Our flight departure was delayed due to mechanical issues. But who wants to fly over the Atlantic in a plane that is not up to snuff? We had to cancel our afternoon snorkel today due to our late arrival but everyone is settled in to their rooms and I believe they will sleep well. We were able to see some marine life in the not too exciting ferry reach in front of the marine station. And, there were some pretty fun creatures in aquaria and the touch tank in the lab. Just an inkling of the things to come. The mopeds arrive at 9:00 am tomorrow. Let the games begin!
